The Cougars defeat the Spartans in Lathrop

Varsity won 7-4. Gerardo Ortega went 3-for-3 and lead the team in hits with 3 ( 2 singles, 1 double). Nicolas Corona hit 3 batters off a base clearing triple. Nate Newsome went 6 innings on the bump and struck out 12 batters. Ethan Linares came into close and contributed 3 strikeouts of his own.

JV won 13-12. The game was tied at 12 in the top of the third when Matthew Smith singled, scoring one run. The Cougars scored eight runs on three hits to take the lead, 13-12. The Cougars collected 10 walks for the game. Julio Chavez, Brunold, and Diego Briseno led the team with two free passes each. Briseno stole two bases.

Cougars > Lions

Varsity defeats Linden Lions 14–5 to capture their first win of the season. Fareed Babalola had 4 runs batted in (RBI) on 2 hits (single, double). Nicolas Corona went 2 for 2 with 3 runs batted in (RBI) off two singles. Both Anthony Arias and Ethan Linares hit a pair of runs in off singles.

JV scored 7 runs in the bottom of 5th to tie the game 9-9. Julio Chavez pitched 2 innings and gave up 0 earned runs with 2 strikeouts.

The starting line ups are set for Game #2 of the season vs Linden.
