What does clean energy look like at the local level?

At Groundwork, we’re working with rural electric co-ops across northern Michigan to help expand access to clean, affordable, and reliable energy.

Because co-ops are member-owned, real change can happen from the ground-up—driven by the people they serve.

This is about more than energy. It’s about building stronger, more resilient communities.

Want to see more clean energy in your community?

You have more power than you think ⚡

Rural electric co-ops hold annual elections to choose board members who make key decisions about energy—like whether to invest in clean energy.

The catch? Voter turnout is often incredibly low.

That means your vote can truly make a difference.

This is a real opportunity to shape the future of energy in your community.
