Headfirst Farmstead

All of this year's blackberry jams and pie filling came from our own blackberries! It was so great finally having enough to preserve some! We just finished up canning a batch of pie filling, we *might* get one more batch of jam if the heat doesn't get to the last bit of berries that are ripening right now.
With the new plant growth we had this year, we will probably double the amount next season!! We love it!!

We wanted to give a quick update on our jar return credits. Unfortunately, the cost of replacing both pieces of lids for canning jars is getting to high to be able to offer $1 per jar credit. We need to adjust this to $0.50 per returned jar, no lids required as we can not reuse the flats and occasionally we can not reuse the bands. We so appreciate jars being brought in! We love being able to recycle what we can instead of seeing the jars being tossed out.
