If you purchased a home in Florida, don’t forget to file for your Homestead Exemption — the deadline is March 1!

To qualify for the upcoming tax year, you must have purchased the home prior to January 1, 2026, and it must be your primary residence.

You will need the following when applying:
✔️Social Security Number
✔️ Florida Driver’s License or Florida ID ✔️Permanent Resident Card if you are not a U.S. citizen
✔️ Proof of Florida residency (such as your vehicle registration or official document showing your homestead address)

Filing is free and can usually be done online through your County Property Appraiser’s website.
