We are excited to announce that we have reached an agreement to become the 16th member of the Frontier League, the largest and longest running independent professional baseball league. The Frontier League is an official Partner League of Major League Baseball and annually moves the most players into Major League Baseball organizations from any independent league.

The Frontier League plays a 96 game schedule which will include 48 home games for the ValleyCats at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. The season is set to begin in mid-May with a complete schedule to be announced in the near future.

We are committed to maintaining the same fan experience while also fielding a competitive team on the field. Despite a new format, the ValleyCats philosophy and mission will remain the same: “To develop fans for life by creating an experience that is affordable, fun, and entertaining, while in a safe and clean environment.”

The 71st Annual Troy Turkey Trot filled the streets of downtown Troy on Thanksgiving morning with runners and walks of all ages.

While most people were cooking their Thanksgiving meals at home getting ready for a busy day with family and friends the streets of downtown Troy were packed with runners and walkers for the larges Thanksgiving day race. With temperatures at 5°F runners and walkers of all ages completed 10k, Grade School Mile, and the 5K races. This year is one of the coldest years in the history of the race. Participants did what they had to do this stay warm but The committee for the Troy turkey trot placed warming stations throughout the race area and also handed out handwarmers for everyone to stay warm. The Troy Turkey Trot draws runners from all over the United State and from multiple countries from all over the world.

This year 6,400 participants took part in the Thanksgiving day race but numbers are down from 2017 where 7,100 participants participated in the great race of Thanksgiving. Prizes for the best costume was given out and metals were giving to all participants that completed the race.
