Faith Extended: Ephesus (part 2) - The New Humanity
Ephesians 4:22-24

Over the last two months, we have accompanied the Apostle Paul to many of his stops during his second missionary journey. His last stop was Ephesus. Ephesus was also his first stop on his third missionary journey. Paul was able to spend several years with the fledgling church in this bustling town. Many people came to faith out of a wide variety of backgrounds. But one thing brought them all together. No matter who they were or what their background, they each had to take off their old way of living and put on a new way of living - the way of Jesus.

J.O.Y. SEEKERS (55+) JULY LUNCH & PROGRAM
Tuesday, July 28, noon, Family Life Center

They say styles come back. So, break out the bellbottoms and peace shirts and join us for our next J.O.Y. Seekers.

Our gathering is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28. We have a “groovy” program planned. Kathy Hahn, Administrative Assistant at Troy MC, will provide a musical program. She is a resident of Troy, IL, and an Air Force veteran.

Her lifelong love of music has led her to sing in a variety of venues: musical theater, community festivals, sporting events, military ceremonies, weddings, and beauty pageants. She is also a vocalist with The Philosophers, a Metro-East band performing jazz and popular standards.

She's planned a musical journey called “Yesterday Once More.". Her program will spotlight female vocalists and girl groups who left us with an impressive array of hits during the 1960's and 1970's. She will feature a diverse tapestry of contemporary and classical music, popular standards from the American Songbook, and show tunes. Kathy has performed with both Masterworks Chorale and Heartland Community Chorus.

Our meal will include fried chicken, green beans, potato salad, & cole slaw. Members are encouraged to bring watermelon, other fresh fruit, and any favorite dessert.

Not many have registered so far. Please call the office to register to attend between July 21-23 (Remember: office is closed on Fridays). Cost: $10 to cover meal.

CONNECT LUNCH
Sunday, July 26, 11:45 a.m., Upper Family Life Center

If you are new to our church family, we want to welcome you and provide you with an opportunity to connect! This Sunday, July 26, we will have a Connect Lunch following the 10:30 a.m. service. Starting at 11:45 a.m. and going until 1:15 p.m., we will enjoy lunch from Fire and Smoke, spend time getting to know each other, and set aside time to answer any questions you might have about our church family. We will also take a tour of our church facilities so you can get to know your way around.

Faith Extended: Ephesus (Part 1) - When Idols Collapse
Acts 19: 1-14

This Sunday, as we come together to worship, we will continue to follow the footsteps of Paul in our Faith Extended series. As we arrive in the city of Ephesus, we will explore the town's historical setting and dive into the 19th chapter of the book of Acts.

As we look back and study Scripture, we are given the opportunity to see how history speaks to our present-day lives. As we learn from history, we learn how our witness has outward ramifications. Come this Sunday, as we continue to journey with Jesus, one footstep at a time!
