Congratulations to Will on 10 years with architecture+!
Will joined our team after earning a Master of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, bringing with him his creative drive and commitment to the collaborative process. A decade later, that commitment has only deepened, as did his impact on our firm and the clients we serve.
He has built a portfolio of work with a focus on higher education and behavioral health facilities, two sectors where thoughtful design can genuinely transform lives. Will has helped shape projects across numerous SUNY campuses, including Albany, Oneonta, New Paltz, and Canton, as well as RPI, Russell Sage College, Union College, and more. In the healthcare and special populations space, he has contributed meaningfully to mental health and addiction treatment projects that include The Family Counseling Center (Gloversville, NY), Twin Counties Recovery Residence for Men (Hudson, NY), Valley Ridge Center for Intensive Treatment (Norwich, NY), and Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center (Shoreline, WA).
He has become a trusted partner to clients, consultants, and contractors alike, strengthening all the projects he undertakes with his attention to detail, collegial nature, and excellent communication skills.
We're proud to see how Will has grown as a project manager and look forward to all that lies ahead!

Please join us in congratulating Brian Barker on an incredible 40 years at architecture+!
Brian’s extraordinary planning expertise, design skills, and collaborative spirit have shaped projects that don't just serve communities, they elevate them. He has amassed a diverse portfolio of projects for higher education, healthcare, housing, and special populations clients encompassing everything from new campuses and replacement facilities to transformative renovations and historic preservation. All of these projects have created environments that provide vital services and enrich the experience of all who use them.
A few project highlights include:
• SUNY Oneonta Fitzelle Hall Renovation, Oneonta, NY
• Word of Life Bible Institute Bollback Student Life Center, Schroon Lake, NY
• The Wellness Hub, a transitional and permanent supportive housing campus, Hudson, NY
• Margaret and Charles Juravinski Centre for Integrated Health, offering mental health services, Ontario, Canada
Brian’s impact extends beyond his work at architecture+. He is deeply involved in his church and community, serving on the boards of the Troy Community Land Bank, Arise and Build Community Ministries, and Habitat for Humanity Capital District as well as an active member of InUnity Alliance and the New York State Association for Affordable Housing, reflecting his dedication to sustainable and accessible housing. At his alma mater, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), he’s helped shaped the next generation of designers as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Thesis Reviewer, and Urban Design Build Partnership Advisor Panelist.
Brian’s dedication, integrity, and passion for thoughtful design makes him an invaluable team member and trusted partner from concept through completion. Congratulations, Brian!
“Forty years goes fast when you love what you do and who you do it with. I've had the privilege of working alongside genuinely talented, compassionate people whose work has touched lives across our community and throughout North America. I'm grateful for every project, every challenge, and every collaboration that's shaped the work we do together and I'm excited for what's still ahead.”

We are so excited to share some big news!
The Kem & Carolyn Gardner Huntsman Mental Health Crisis Care Center in Salt Lake City, Utah has been awarded the 2026 IIDA Intermountain B.E.S.T. Project Award in the "Give" category—recognizing facilities dedicated to community-focused, non-profit, and public service.
The team of architecture+ and FFKR Architects designed this innovative center to provide a true continuum of care offering stabilizing and supportive services that bridges the gap between community and behavioral health systems. The “no-wrong-door” approach to crisis care creates a positive pathway to recovery that feels dignified, safe, and therapeutic. Congratulations to the project team on this wonderful accomplishment!
