Prior to living in Trumbull, Audrey raised her family and resided in Mamaroneck, NY for more than forty years. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Lifrieri. Born in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Catherine McCurry McGinnis. McGinnis.

Audrey was a Registered Nurse and she worked at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, NY, and later served for many years as the school nurse at Chatsworth Avenue School in Larchmont, NY. Her caring nature and dedication to others have always been at the heart of who she is. Audrey was the consummate caregiver, always very supportive of friends and family, and quick to offer kindness, help and encouragement. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great sport who easily went along with lots of joking and teasing on the part of her family. Audrey enjoyed many simple pleasures, including reading, relaxing at the beach, watching NY Yankees baseball, and cooking delicious Italian meals for her family. She enjoyed pitching baseballs to her sons when they were young and was always there to cheer from the sidelines at their games. She also cherished the many years and happy times that she and her family spent at their house in Montauk, NY. She decorated it with much pride and enjoyment and enthusiastically welcomed family and friends for visits.

Audrey’s family is grateful for the care and compassion that she received from the staff while she was in assisted living at Bridges by EPOCH in Trumbull.

Mark Carlson Obituary Jun 24, 2026 - Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Directors 06/28/2026

Mark Carlson

Mark Carlson of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Beloved husband and father, Mark leaves behind his loving wife of over 30 years, Jamie; their two children, Rylee and Evan; his parents, Gary and Mary Carlson; and his three brothers, Gary, Patrick, and Andrew, along with their families.

Mark was a devoted husband and father. He cherished spending time with his family and close friends. He especially loved his family trips to St. Thomas, USVI. Mark was an avid golfer and an amazing athlete, which garnered him the nickname “Sparky” from his early childhood friends. He was a 1981 graduate of Andrew Warde High School, where he was the co-captain of the state championship-winning Warde Eagles baseball team. He then graduated from Sacred Heart University with a graphic design degree and went on to work in print production for Prudential and Florida Power & Light.

Mark left us far too soon. At only 63, he had more to give. Even though Mark left us too early, he will always be remembered for the quality time he spent with his family and friends and for how he lived with his illness, with dignity and grace. He never said, “Why me?” Instead, Mark’s mantra was “Carpe Diem,” seize the day, and that is what he did. He will be forever missed and forever loved.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the interment, which will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull CT, on Friday July 24th at 10:30am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield CT, at 12 Noon.

Thomas Francis McGrath Obituary May 28, 2026 - Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Directors 05/30/2026

Thomas Francis McGrath

Thomas Francis McGrath, age 82 of Stratford died Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital following a brief illness. Tom was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. He was the husband of the late Betty Allen McGrath. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Thomas and Lillian Daly McGrath. He had fond memories of growing up in Brooklyn with his three older sisters and would often tell stories of trips to Coney Island and summers at Candlewood Lake. Tom worked for more than 50 years in the air freight industry, retiring from BTX Global Logistics. In his retirement, he explored his love of creative writing, publishing seven books on the Amazon Kindle Store. Tom was a lifelong fan of women’s basketball, from his days of coaching The Our Lady of Assumption elementary school girls’ team (taking them all the way to two New England Championships) to his love of the UCONN Women’s Basketball team. Always a coach, he loved to discuss and break down the details of the UCONN games and wholeheartedly believed Geno could learn a few things from him. Known for his sense of humor, great story-telling, and bad Dad jokes, he will be remembered as being able to find humor in almost any situation. He passed that same sense of humor on to both his children and grandchildren.

Tom’s grandchildren were everything to him - his greatest pride and joy. He loved every minute spent with Tommy, Liam and Molly - talking with them, laughing together, telling stories, playing games, celebrating holidays and just spending quality family time together. In his college essay, Tommy wrote about his Papa - “two of the greatest gifts my grandpa has ever given me are his sense of humor and his ability to make connections with almost anyone. He had an uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, no matter what their age or interests. His greatest quality is his cheerful personality and kind soul.” The other, and equally important lesson he was sure to pass on was that the Mallomar was the greatest cookie ever invented.

He is survived by his four loving children, Colleen McGrath, Bridget Fawcett and her husband Brian, Tom McGrath and his wife, Jennifer, and Beth McGrath, grandchildren Tommy Fawcett, Liam and Molly McGrath. In addition, he is survived by his brothers-in-law Ronnie Bertasi and Vincent Givens and his close friends Kim and Rick LoCicero, Jimmy and Jean Brideau, Dick and Marie Brown and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his three sisters, Patricia Keating and her husband Bill, Catherine Givens, Anne Kapple and her husband Bob, and his in-laws Mary Bertasi, Tom and Scottie Allen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6 at 10 AM in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Friday June 5 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Tom’s memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org)
