I don’t get nervous to race anymore, and honestly a lot of it feels like just going through the motions. Enter After multiple cancelled flights, I’ve made it to Norway to attempt to finish a 100 mile race: no crew, no pacers, a new (to me) country, and the weather looks “fun.” I have had a rough couple years of lingering injuries, but I am feeling good enough to start, and excited for the challenge 💪🏿 I have always enjoyed longer races, because it’s a lot of problem solving on the go, and a finish is never guaranteed. On a race like this, you have to want it, because you could potentially be out there for 2 sunsets and 2 sunrises, but you’re never that far away from a warm, dry hotel room 😅 8:00am Friday is just one sleep away 🕺🏿

I spent birthday # 36 on the coast of Oregon & Washington…it was filled with rain and fog, but delivered a clear shot of this eagle. I had just flown back from Australia and straight into a Merrell shoot, so it was actually nice to do some short photo hikes, and relax with all the coffee and pastries. 🕺🏿

Gone Nuts 50k was…nuts. A perfect mix of runable path, goat track, single track, and views for days. I have been lucky enough to race in some pretty incredible places, and this one ranks high on the list. It was a bit of a rough day, but honestly that’s where my current fitness is, and a bit of old man strength got me to the finish line. Racing on this side of the world is always an adventure, and I’m thankful I got to experience this. The icing on the cake was the great coffee at the finish ☕️

Here I go — 50k in the morning. Looking forward to the tour of Rocky Cape National Park and tour of the coast. I ran part off the course yesterday, and we drove a few parts today: it’s beautiful. Happy I took some photos today, so I don’t take •as many• on race day! 🕺🏿
