Friday, Feb. 9th: On this date in 1909, the first federal legislation prohibiting narcotics (o***m) occurred.

Saturday, Feb. 10th: On this date in 1997, The O.J. Simpson civil trial jury reached the decision of $25 million to be paid in punitive damages. In 1967, the 25th Amendment concerning presidential disability and succession, went into effect. And in 1855, U.S. citizenship laws were amended so that all children of U.S. parents born abroad would be granted U.S. citizenship.

Sunday, Feb. 11th: In 1993, Janet Reno was selected by President Clinton as U.S. Attorney General. In 1990, Nelson Mandela, political prisoner for 27 years, was freed in South Africa. And in 1988, Anthony M. Kennedy was appointed to the Supreme Court.
