The Drive Tucson

March Music Matchups officially starts Monday and this whole thing was built by our Drive Tucson listeners and powered by our friends at Roadies (Lanes, Games & Gastropub) and RoadHouse Cinemas Tucson

More than 2,000 songs were submitted and had to be narrowed down to a 64-song tournament bracket. And honestly, it was almost impossible in some cases.

There were several spots where the difference between one song making the bracket and another missing it came down to one or two votes. That’s how close it was.

Now the bracket is set… and the rest is up to you.

The first challenge happens Monday morning at 7:05 and it’s a big one:
Hotel California by the Eagles vs. Imagine by John Lennon.
From there we’ll have three matchups every weekday — 7:05am, 12:05pm, and 5:05pm.

After each challenge airs, you can vote for the song you want to advance in the bracket.

Voting stays open until one hour BEFORE the next matchup.

We keep going round by round until the final two songs face off for The Drive Tucson Desert Crown.

The Championship Match will be happening Friday, April 3 at 12:05 during Ken Carr’s show and the champion will be announced Monday April 6 at 12:05pm.

And when we’re out in the community, seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones reminds us why this matters. If we haven’t met yet, we’d love to change that this year.
