How can you empower women in India?

"We take a very holistic approach. If you’re pregnant, we’ll help you however you need; if you’re being abused, we’ll help take the perpetrator to court. We will empower you by giving you microfinance loans. We give cow loans to women who want to support their daughters and have no way to do it because their husbands have abandoned them."

One of our wonderful partners and CEO of the Invisible Girl Project, shares her story about how the awareness of gendercide and human trafficking led her to start this group which empowers and protects Indian women in very tangible ways! Take a look!

After seeing how female children weren’t valued in India, she started this group to help Jill McElya launched the Invisible Girl Project after seeing India’s problem with gendercide.

“In September, LifeNews reported about another gruesome case where an Indian woman’s in-laws allegedly poured gas on her and tried to set her on fire because they believed she was pregnant with a girl.”

Sex-selection abortions continue to fuel the cultural notion that girls are so unworthy of life that they should be eliminated by any means necessary. It represents the most violent form of discrimination against women, victimizing both mother and daughter.
