The Real Goal Isn't Just Pain Relief
Killing the pain is not the finish line. The real goal is getting you back to the work, workouts, and life you actually want. Here is how we think about herniated disc treatment without surgery, building strength so the problem does not keep coming back.

Can a chiropractor actually fix a herniated disc? It is one of the most common questions we hear, so we put the real answers in one place.
Swipe through seven questions patients ask us most: Can a chiropractor help a herniated disc? Will adjustments make it worse? Do I need an MRI before starting care? How long does it take to heal? Can a herniated disc heal on its own? When is surgery actually the right answer? Is spinal decompression the same as traction?
The short version: for most people, a herniated disc chiropractor offers a safe, non-surgical treatment for a slipped disc that calms the irritated nerve first, then rebuilds strength so it does not keep flaring. We use gentler, lower-force techniques during the irritated phase, and we will tell you honestly if imaging, a referral, or surgery is the better fit for your case.

Your MRI Disc Bulge May Not Be the Problem
A bulging disc on your MRI does not automatically mean it is the source of your pain. Plenty of pain-free people have disc bulges on imaging. That is why a thorough exam matters more than a scan alone, and why a bulging disc in the lower back is treatable without rushing to surgery.
