Just a reminder for all of you...
Remember to check your magnesium anode rods in your water heaters. They say that these anode rods last one to three years. This is what they say though if you are just using your RV for vacationing two or three months out of the year.
It really comes down to how often you use the coach, as well as how bad the water is that your hooked up to. If you are living in your RV year round, I would recommend checking it at least every six months.
This one in the picture, next to the new one was in a brand new water heater, in Tucson, that was installed only thirteen months ago. Lived in full time. And it was completely gone.
In another of the pictures, you can see all the lime scale build up that came out of the water heater. This build up led to corrosion on the plastic water inlet which began to leak and caused more corrosion on the tank itself where the plastic adapter was leaking. The tank developed a crack due to the corrosion.
Then it also caused a lot of damage to the floor in the storage compartments from a slow leak over time...
In the end, a new water heater is needed after only thirteen months. Costly mistake, that can easily be avoided. So remember to check your anode rods in accordance to how much you use your coach.
