According to the American Cancer Society, "Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, except for skin cancers. It accounts for about 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year." It remains the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women, just behind lung cancer. This October we invite you to explore the many educational resources available on this subject. Screenings can be literally life saving, and the outlook for many cancers is dramatically improved with early detection. If you notice anything unusual, reach out to your doctor. Cancer impacts our communities, families, and personal lives. Together we can all be the support unit to ensure that everyone has access to life-impacting care when they need it.

According to the CDC, approximately 1 in 5 youth have obesity. Lower-income and youth from traditionally underserved populations face higher incidences. Many families still face barriers to accessible healthcare and support services to ensure their child is set up for success. With September being , it's a great opportunity to get the kids in our lives more active and learning about healthier lifestyles.
