At the Studio

Our virtual Land Art Series is coming to an end next week. Our young artists have accomplished so much over the past 8 weeks. We've gathered inspiration from our sweet desert landscape and learned about other landscapes and land artists from all across the globe. We created paintings using our own earth pigments. We've balanced rocks and built sculptures out of sticks and twigs. We've carefully taken inventory of the colors which surround us and found creative and respectful ways to incorporate these colors into our land art. It's been a blast! The next virtual Art Series will be exploring the limitless land of FIBER ART! Students will be learning several different weaving, knotting, and knitting techniques as well as creating their own looms! Lots of exciting new projects in the works for this upcoming virtual series.

This virtual Fiber Art Series will be held on Wednesday afternoons at 3:45PM. Classes start October 21st!

This afternoon our aspiring young artists were introduced to the inspirational Land Artist Andy Goldsworthy. We explored patterns in his work and made connections to our own landscape. Afterwards we ventured outdoors to create pattern art using only materials found in nature.
