Tucson heat can burn paws in seconds. 🐾
When it is 109° outside, asphalt can reach 160° or hotter. Cody’s Friends is launching Operation Paws in Boots to help protect dogs from dangerously hot pavement this summer.
We are raising money to purchase 100 sets of dog booties for dogs facing extreme heat.
The best way to help is to donate so Cody’s Friends can purchase the sizes we need most as we run out. We are also accepting new or gently used dog booties at Cody’s Donation Stations.

We’re so happy to welcome Pet Care as one of our newest Cody’s Donation Station locations.
Many Tucson families remember and loved Dr. Nelson, and we’re grateful to see him back in town with Pet Care, a low-cost veterinary clinic helping pets and the people who love them.
Now, when you visit Pet Care, you can also drop off pet food and supplies for families in need. Every donation helps Cody’s Friends keep pets fed and home where they belong.

As we head into the 4th of July weekend, we think about our country, community, and the ways each of us can make a difference.
Cody’s Friends began with one simple quote.
After doing a school report on his hero, President John F. Kennedy, 10-year-old Cody read the words:
“Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.”
He turned to his mom and asked, “What am I doing for my country?”
That question changed everything.
For Cody, doing his part began with helping pets stay fed and stay with the people who love them.
Fifteen years later, that simple question still guides the work Cody’s Friends does every day.
