On March 7th, NRC Tucson held a Change of Command ceremony as CDR Chris “Hoff” Cedros was formally relieved by LCDR Pete “P2” Palmer at NRC Tucson.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of CAPT Collins, Commodore of Navy Reserve Region Readiness and Mobilization Command San Diego (REDCOM SD); CAPT Craig Derananian, Deputy Commodore of REDCOM SD; CAPT Bogan, Commanding Officer of NRC Phoenix; and CDR Sacramento, Commanding Officer of RTAG Southwest. We were also proud to have our Marine Corps counterparts leadership, along with family and friends, in attendance to witness this important milestone.

We extend our sincere gratitude to CDR Cedros for his steadfast leadership and dedication over the past two and a half years. His commitment to Mobilization readiness, Sailor development, and command excellence has left a lasting impact on Team Tucson.

To LCDR Palmer, welcome aboard and congratulations on taking command, Skipper! We look forward to your leadership as NRC Tucson continues to move forward with strength and purpose.

On February 26th, NRC Tucson proudly participated in the Tucson Rodeo Parade, showcasing our strong connection to the local community and our commitment to service both in and out of uniform.

NRC Tucson staff marched alongside Sailors and Officers from NTAG Phoenix, the USS Tucson (SSN-770), and members of the U.S. Submarine Veterans, Inc. (USSVI) Tucson Base, representing generations of naval service.

This event was a great opportunity for community outreach, allowing us to engage with the people of Tucson, share our Navy story, and strengthen the bond between the military and the community we proudly serve.

We are honored to support the local population and to represent the Navy’s enduring presence in Southern Arizona. Events like this highlight the pride, professionalism, and dedication of our Sailors and Veterans alike. Thank you to everyone who came out to support, we are proud to serve Tucson!

NRC Tucson February Drill Weekend Recap

February’s Drill Weekend was centered on preparation for, and completion of, the Advancement Exam. We wish the best of luck to all our SELRES who were eligible to test. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we are rooting for your success as you pursue the next paygrade.

We were also visited by the Psychological Health Outreach Program (PHOP) Specialist, Mr. Glenn Holly, who provided both valuable training and one on one sessions for our Sailors. PHOP continues to be an invaluable resource, and if you are experiencing any challenges or feel you could benefit from support, please inform the NRC staff. Thank you, Mr. Holly, for your continued dedication to the well being of our Sailors.

Looking ahead, March’s Drill Weekend will include a Change of Command ceremony for our Commanding Officer. If you are interested in volunteering to support this important event, please contact the NRC staff. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you to all our Sailors and staff for another focused and productive drill weekend.
