Tech Core, in collaboration with The McGuire Center's New Venture Development Program, present Xtract!

"Our project's name is XTRACT, and we extract functional ingredients in pure formats from medicinal plants and fungi. Our ingredients are integrated into existing products to impart the benefits of these functional foods to wider audiences.

In the United States, a majority of our food is processed, loaded with sugars / saturated fats, and a lack of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. This directly contributes to our health.

The number one and two causes of death in America are heart disease and cancer which CAN be prevented with a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Diabetes ranks in the top 10 as well. The food you eat is what you are. Choose healthy now to avoid disease in the future.

We are aiming to create a healthier environment for society by including health benefits in food and drinks that are already being consumed on the market. We'd like to sell to companies that align with our health values and give the consumers additional benefits in a convenient manner.

Our ingredient, derived from the naturally occurring mushroom, Lion's Mane, contains health benefits like improved memory, a slow in cognitive decline, and reduced inflammation. For example, we'd like to sell the ingredient to a company like Kind Bar or Naked Juice. Giving healthy options an extra boost!"
