Amazing!

What are pharyngeal jaws?! Some fish, such as moray eels, have a second set of jaws called pharyngeal jaws located in the throat, or pharynx, of the fish. Most fish with pharyngeal teeth are not able to extend the jaws themselves, but a notable exception is that of the moray eel. Because eels cannot swallow their food as other fishes by creating a negative pressure in the mouth, they have evolved extendable pharyngeal jaws! When a moray bites its prey with its first set of jaws, the pharyngeal jaws extend forward and bite down to grip the food, then retract and pull the prey down the throat of the eel!
