🛠️ Process shots from a pick guard crack repair on this 1970s Martin 00-18! The original pick guard had shrunk and was warped so severely that it was unsalvageable, so a new pick guard was required.

After gluing and cleating the crack, Cameron made a custom template to cut out a new pick guard to match the original.

🩺 Open heart surgery on a 1918 Gibson Junior A-Style Mandolin, fresh out of the repair shop!

This one came in previously repaired with the back removed then put on crooked and material sanded away on the side to make it fit the body, as well as some blocky, non-original kerfing on the inside. Correcting this involved removing and refitting the back with the help of a custom-built form, and replacing the chonk with period-specific kerfing.

(Kerfing aka lining is the material that holds the top, back, and sides together on most steel string guitars and mandolins!)

Ok, how adorable is this Dasy-sized, Depression-era banjo uke we serviced recently?! A family heirloom covered in musician signatures, this lil guy came into the shop in need of a new bridge. Pretty nifty.
