The York Systems Engineer is a highly experienced, proactive Launch and Safety Systems Engineer who enjoys managing all aspects of program interfaces to the spacecraft launch service provider including ICD management, range safety documentation, and launch site operational procedures. You are a can-do person who is willing to step in and support program and technical business needs alongside the team.



Responsibilities

Function as spacecraft focal point for range requirements and safety documentation, including the Air Force Space Command Manual 91-710 Tailoring, Missile System Prelaunch Safety Package, and the Ground Operations Plan.

Act as primary point of contact for spacecraft processing, transportation, and logistics at the launch site before and during the launch campaign.

Plan and generate technical content for the launch portions of the spacecraft design reviews.

Manage interface control documents between the spacecraft and launch vehicle.

Support launch vehicle selection as needed.

Lead meetings with launch providers and relay program details and timelines.



Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with all phases of satellite launch campaigns including satellites in the primary and rideshare payload positions.

Familiarity with AFSPCMAN 91-710.

Experience writing ICDs and verifying interfaces are compatible.

Experience with writing and executing operational procedures on satellite vehicles.

Planning and organizing skillsets, including schedule contribution.

Strong interpersonal skills and techniques for eliciting and motivating team performance.

Engagement with multidisciplinary teams.

Strong communication and coordination skills: verbal, written, and presentation.

Experience in the design and/or test of a space vehicle.

Experience in interpreting customer (internal and external) needs and expectations.

5+ years of experience.
