As we begin July, we’re reminded that growth is rarely measured by a calendar.
It’s measured in moments of courage, consistency, and the opportunities we’re given to keep moving forward.
Maybe this year looked like learning a new routine.
Making a first friend.
Building confidence in the community.
Trying something that once felt impossible.
Or maybe this year has simply been about showing up one day at a time.
Progress doesn’t have to be dramatic to be meaningful.
Here’s to a new month filled with more possibilities, more connections, and more reasons to celebrate the victories, big and small.

When people talk about independence, they usually focus on practical skills.
Cooking.
Cleaning.
Managing money.
Getting a job.
And those skills matter.
But there’s another set of skills that often gets overlooked.
What happens when something doesn’t go as planned?
Can a person work through a problem?
Ask for help?
Try again after making a mistake?
Handle disappointment?
These moments happen every day—and they’re often where confidence is built.
For individuals with IDD, independence isn’t just about completing tasks. It’s also about developing the resilience to navigate challenges, learn from experiences, and keep moving forward.
Because life isn’t about never making mistakes.
It’s about learning what to do next when you do.
