This Labor Day we would like to recognize not only the people who are in the workforce, but also those who perform tasks that are unseen to the public or even those around them.

Invisible labor refers to the unrecognized, uncompensated work—often mental, emotional, or managerial tasks—that keeps households, organizations, and families running, with women taking the majority of the burden.

Cognitive labor like meal planning, scheduling appointments, and ensuring tasks are completed.

Emotional labor in the workplace like managing people feelings and creating a positive environment.

Household labor which women in America do 120% more of than their male partners in the same household.

Invisible labor remains one of the most persistent sources of gender inequity, affecting economic output, mental health, and relationship satisfaction.

Thank you for those who enact labors of love on a daily basis. Money is the currency of things, love is the currency of people.
