Fck This House - FTH

Ive decided to post every little thing I do around the house (and cars) because if seems like everything i do leads to me saying FTH.
Today I discovered one of our GFCIs was dead. It's really a simple job, and this one proved to be. I'm posting this pic because even a grout covered screw is indicative of the s**thousery I come across doing anything. Naturally, being the paranoid, amateur electrician that I am, I shut the power off to the whole house just to replace this outlet. But remember, having to reset all your clocks and thermostats is better than being electrocuted.

The long awaited new episode of FTH! Yesterday, while making dinner, my wife hollers at me that the ceiling is leaking. I go upstairs and, sure enough, water steadily dripping from the ceiling. Upon further inspection, the condensation tray under the HVAC unit in the attic is bowed down in one corner and completely filled with water. It is also at this time, my son calls from downstairs to tell the oven is on fire. I walked downstairs and found a couple small flames glowing in the oven. I grabbed a glass of water and tossed it in. Hero. Back to the attic I go armed with the trusty A frame ladder and a shop vac. I maneuver the vac onto the ladder tray, climb into the skuttle hole and start sucking up the water in the tray. Seeing the tray is empty, I start the arduous process of carrying a now completely full shop vac of water down the stairs. Don't worry fans, my back to the brunt of fall.

Now is where you all get to play along! Do I replace the drywall or just paint over that s**t and let it ride?

A little window rehab today. It went fairly smooth until I switch to the polymer window sealant. That crap is sticky and pain in the ass to clean up. I need a new pair of jeans now.
