Tulsa Time House Concerts

I'm excited to announce two more shows on the Tulsa Time House Concerts Spring schedule! My first international artist, Australian Nigel Wearne, debuts on May 23rd and Luke Bulla/Jared Tyler Frederick return on June 20th. A multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Nigel just won the Telluride Blues Festival's Blues Challenge and has been touring the U.S. heavily the last couple years. You'll hear the influences of Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Rickie Lee Jones (wow!) in his performance.
Many of you have seen Luke and Jared here before and their combined talent and friendship results in a most excellent show! Details and tickets to follow soon but mark your calendars!

Happy Tuesday Tribute! Here’s my dad Hoyt Axton playing “Sweet Misery” on the Smothers Brothers Show in 1975. This song initially appeared as the first track on & single from his 1973 album ‘Less Than A Song’ and then later, on his 1977 compilation album ‘Road Songs.’ “Sweet Misery” was covered by John Denver in 1973 and Martha Reeves & the Vandellas in 1974, both very different yet great versions of this tune. I released my own version of “Sweet Misery” on my last album ‘Blue Sky Rain.’ He also played the “No No Song” & “Lion in the Winter” with Linda Ronstadt on this episode.
