The big news is I'm pushing for funds. I just put a down payment on a 50'x15' steel building BAT BARN east side 15x15 rescue lab house the bats and a door going to the flight 30' flight cage height maybe 10' width not sure probably to cover the window for a winter roost so when they are strong the flight can be open and they can leave. bottom 35' will be a workshop with all the saws welder compressor sandblaster and other tools for bat houses and other projects. west side upstairs 15x15' will be a classroom I'm contacting all the school system to see how I can work with them maybe getting certified as a substitute. hopefully we will have some schools here on field trips since rehab animals can't leave the grounds new laws in Oklahoma messing with the rehabbers and their education programs. I'll have an iron arm stars to the door and entrance on the side of the house ring doorbell to I can open it no matter where I am. I'll be setting up an overhead projection for movies and slides seating for I think 24 may be able to squeeze in a few extras. the other 35 feet will be used for storage to clean out garage and house so I and my 3 roommates have some room. widen the driveway for 3 cars or 2 cars and school bus during school sessions. I'm the only rehabber that specializes in bats the couple of centers prefer not to do them pup season does take dedicated people working 2-3 hours feeding the pups around the clock most don't want that responsibility. so desperate times desperate measures. the building will be here in 2 months I'm getting quotes on putting it together. I'm working on building permits and inspectors hoping I can find a good construction company or contractor do put it together insulation walls plumbing lab sink elect for microwave refrig computer etc. classroom so we need sever outlets and lots of lights A/C & Heat so I can use this place ear round. This place will be 100% for bats because most of the storage is for them too. I have 100's of books I've put together with 100 of bookcases and boxes that will help the house substantially. So I'm working on a go fund me account I need everyone everywhere to help out with whatever they can 10-20 bucks is great if you can give more God bless you. This will help with 6 books I'm working on it was one bat at 500 pages I had to cut the chapters down to books and I'm doing several areas of research Farmers Pest control volumes amount of bats they use species they have etc etc etc. I have 1000 question which I need to find answers for and 1/2 of this book is for rehabbers setting up graphs the graphs I have created and many others. Bat house research lab with a dozen bat houses different kinds with hopes of different species and testing to what will attract them. and I'llright a book about that too. I'm currently buiilding 3,5,7,9.12 chamber 12x12" hold 750 to 2500 bats depending on species. I can build them any size but the weight is about 70 lbs at 12 chamber using recycled privacy fence 100 of the fence the front and back have to be new because I need it for the structure for 100 mph winds we get here. they should last 30 years with a proper roof and 3 heavy layers of paint. inside it's natural I can;t improve on mother nature it's all dagoed and glued and sealed tight. I use slotted glued 2x4" on the sides so they can be as big as a person wants. add another 2x4 for another 2 or 3 chambers and just add more pickets to make the chambers. so it's almost totally recycled. but right now WE HAVE A BARN RAISING HELP RAISE THE FEWERR BAT BARN. WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD i'LL POST THE GO FUND ME TOMORROW OR THE NEXT DAY i'LL WORK ON IT TONIGHT PLEASE SUPPORT THE BATS. PS BLAKE SHELTON HAS STARTED A NON PROFIT TO PROMOTE CONSERVATION IN OKLAHOMA JUST HOPE i CAN GET A HOLD OF HIM MAYBE HE COULD GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO HIS CROWD. I'M ESTIMATED $40,000 TO FINISH THE BUILDING. i CAME RIGHT ON AT 8-$10,000 FOR THE SLAB BUILDING IS 17,000 WHICH $5000 ON THE CREDIT CARD GOT 2 MONTHS TO GET THE REST i STILL NEED TO PUT IN PLUMBING BEFORE IT GET HERE WITH THE INSULATION. SO I THINK THAT WILL BE PRETTY COSE. MAYBE A LITTLE MORE HOPEFULLY FUNDS WILL KEEP COMING IN AFTER WE REACH THE 40 TO COMPLETE THE BUILDING. I'M PRAYING TO GOD AND ST FRANCIS WE MAKE IT IN TIME. TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS AND WAIT FOR MY NEXT NOTICE WITH THE GOFUNDME SITE. THANKS

Just upgraded by ecology/adult feeding charts. these greatly help to determine when pup season should start for each species if you make them for your area for a couple years. I have a pdf that shows that if anyone interested I'll post it. these are for Big Browns and Eastern Reds my main 2 bats I figure the temps are pretty solid with the forecast and last years looks like it's springtime here starting yesterday 3-22 and figuring the gestation period assuming the bats are about now and they released their s***m it gives a pretty accurate timeline. Between March 14-22 low temps are steady above 45 so pregnancy should occur maybe. 60 days for Big Browns put it about May 21 first big brown last year was May 8 but we had warmer winter and Red bats is 80 - 85 days of gestation or dob around June 10 last year 1st was June 14 pretty close. Of course, we will use growth charts with pups I'll be updating those next with this year temperatures as well stay tooned.
