Unchain OK

Asher hasn’t had an easy life.

At 10 years old he’s heartworm positive…hookworm positive…Ehrlichia positive…and has spent who knows how long living on the end of a chain.

Yesterday we received a call asking for help euthanizing him.

A volunteer went out today prepared to assess and make the hard call.

What was found was not a dog ready to give up.

A skinny…happy…unbelievably friendly boy who just wanted to lean in and be loved.

We couldn’t in good faith let the chain be the last thing he ever knew.

So we didn’t.

We pulled him.

We got answers.

His prognosis isn’t great…but it’s not hopeless either. And as long as he’s still wagging his tail and choosing us…we’re choosing him.

Asher needs a foster in the worst way.

He deserves soft bedding.
He deserves kindness.
He deserves to finish his story somewhere safe.

His better life starts today.
