Black stories. Black voices. Black excellence.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Black Ink and Beyond: A Celebration of Black Authors. It was an evening filled with inspiration, connection, and powerful storytelling. We’re grateful to our featured authors, attendees, and supporters for making this event one to remember.
A special thank you to Tulsa Community College Metro Campus for providing the venue and helping us create a space where Black authors, readers, and storytellers could come together to celebrate the power of literature and community.

Congratulations are in order to NABJ-Tulsa President, Bianca Harris, who has earned a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for her contributions to the
News On 6 Roadside Memorial Project.
Harris, a photojournalist for five years, is receiving her first regional Murrow Award.
The Edward R. Murrow Awards are among the most prestigious honors in broadcast journalism. Presented by the Radio Television Digital News Association, the awards recognize local and national news stories that uphold the RTDNA Code of Ethics, demonstrate technical excellence and highlight journalism’s role in serving the public. Winning work reflects the high standards long associated with broadcast pioneer Edward R. Murrow.
Harris contributed photography and reporting to the Roadside Memorial Project, which examines roadside memorials across Oklahoma. The memorials are often used to express grief and mark locations where loved ones died unexpectedly. While memorials placed in public rights of way are illegal, families and even strangers continue to create them using crosses, wreaths, flowers and personal items such as clothing, tools and toys.
As part of the project, Harris interviewed the family of Michael Hill, who was killed by a drunk driver on Thanksgiving morning.
