A bill that would ban child marriage in Oklahoma is moving forward, but what happened in committee is raising eyebrows.
The bill would eliminate existing law allowing 16 and 17-year-olds to marry with parent consent. The measure passed out of Senate committee with only one opposing vote from JJ Humphrey. He says those decisions should be made by families, not the government.
The bill now heads to the full Senate for consideration.

A Green Country school district is making a big change in the classroom.
Welch Public Schools will no longer provide every student with a Chromebook starting next school year. Instead, devices will stay in the classroom and be used only when needed.
District leaders say the goal is to reduce distractions, encourage, collaboration, and refocus on teacher-lead instruction. This comes as many other districts are increasing the use of technology in classrooms.
