Tulsa DUI Guy
Has the largest DUI practice in Tulsa County and handles more DUI cases than any other attorney in Oklahoma each year.
If you're arrested for DUI, one of the first things you should do is update your address. Seriously.
After a DUI, Service Oklahoma (formerly DPS) will mail you a letter revoking your driver's license. If your old address is what's on file, you won't get it, and you won't be able to appeal your revocation. If you can't appeal, your only option to keep your license is to complete IDAP (and have a breathalyzer in your car).
There are four levels of Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) in Oklahoma ->
1) 0.00 - 0.05 BAC: Legal (with some exceptions)
2) 0.06-0.07 BAC: DWI; The State must also prove that your driving was impaired
3) 0.08 - 0.14 BAC; Regular DUI; You're going to jail tonight. Misdemeanor.
4) > 0.15 BAC; Aggravated DUI; You're going to jail for a few tonights. Felony.
If you don't know, don't blow. A higher BAC test might make things worse.
WIth all of the recent changes, there’s been quite a bit of confusion about what Oklahoma’s DUI statutes actually say. So, we broke them all down, from BAC standards to driver’s license revocations. Here’s everything you need to know (and a dash extra) 👇
