ASUS today introduced a new generation of its gaming smartphones - ROG Phone 6. As usual, the lineup includes a base model and a Pro. Both ROG Phone 6 models feature 6.78-inch AMOLED displays with a resolution of 1080 x 2448 pixels and a refresh rate of 165Hz. The touch sampling rate is now 720Hz and peak brightness reaches 1200 nits.

Both phones use the latest and most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor to date. The base version is offered with 12 or 16 GB of RAM, while ROG Phone 6 Pro can be equipped with up to 18 GB. The new smartphones have programmable AirTrigger buttons, two front speakers, triple microphones, a headphone jack. The phones are also splash-proof to IPX4.

As for the cameras, the main module is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766, which is complemented by 13-megapixel (super-wide) and 5-megapixel (macro camera). The selfie camera is a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663.

The ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro still use a 6000mAh battery split into two 3000mAh cells. Wired charging supports 65W.

ROG Phone 6 prices will start at €999 in Europe, while ROG Phone 6 Pro will start at €1299.

Researchers have developed a service based on the Allchemy neural network. It is capable of creating routes for the synthesis of new drugs from chemical waste.

The developers assure that within a few minutes Allchemy generates thousands of synthesizable candidates for substances that can become drugs, according to the given parameters. It is also reported that the system makes it possible to reuse more than 200 types of chemical waste and produce about 300 types of drugs.

In general, Allchemy is able to analyze the composition of complex objects and build possible synthetic networks based on this. The model was first used to search for chemical signs of life on other planets.

The developers also noted that the system can select those compounds that are suitable for "green" production - it ranks the results according to given criteria.
