Join Ben as he preaches at UMC Costa Mesa at 10:30 AM, or spend the afternoon at the Beach! Angel is coordinating a non-SHOC beach day if anyone wants to join.

What Is an LGBTQ+ Affirming Church?

In honor of Pride Month, we wanted to provide some clarity about what it means for a church to be LGBTQ+ affirming.
Like the term deconstruction, the word affirming can mean different things to different people. However, we believe it is important for churches to be clear about what they mean when they use this language. Clarity helps people make informed decisions about where they worship and belong, and it helps prevent unnecessary harm.
