Next up, we would like to recognize Ms. Claire Smith, who took on the challenge of testing for her ATA Black Belt.
Black Belt testing is no easy task. Claire began her test with combat sparring and sparring, demonstrating both her physical endurance and martial arts skills. From there, she faced one of the most demanding portions of the testโperforming every form she has learned throughout her ATA journey.
Starting with Songahm 1 and continuing all the way through her current rank, Claire performed each form consecutively, a process that takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. This portion of the test requires not only technical excellence, but also tremendous focus, determination, and endurance.
Was she tired? Absolutely.
Was she out of breath? Yes.
Was she hot and exhausted? Without a doubt.
But despite the challenge, Claire never gave up. She pushed through every form, stayed focused, and demonstrated the perseverance and indomitable spirit expected of a future Black Belt.
We are incredibly proud of the dedication, discipline, and heart she displayed throughout her test.
Congratulations, Ms. Claire Smith! ๐๐ฅ
Keep pushing forward, continue setting the example, and never stop growing as a martial artist. Your journey doesn't end hereโit is only the beginning. We look forward to seeing you continue to lead, encourage, and help your fellow students both on and off the mat. ๐๐ช๐ค๐ฅ

June 1st belt test, 2026
Next up during the belt test, students were challenged with one of the most demanding portions of their promotion: endurance combat sparring and sparring drills.
As a contact sport, sparring requires students to put their training into action against a live opponent. Throughout this portion of the test, students faced multiple partners and progressed through varying levels of contact, from light contact to more intense exchanges. They had to rely on proper breathing techniques, maintain focus, and push through both physical and mental challenges.
This part of the test truly showcased the hard work, dedication, and perseverance they have developed through their training. Every student demonstrated courage, determination, and a strong martial arts spirit.
Congratulations to all of our students for doing an outstanding job during this challenging portion of the belt test. Your effort, discipline, and commitment did not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you! ๐ฅ๐ช๐
