We are often asked how long a patient will stay in an LTACH. The answer isn’t exact because the length of stay varies based on patient need.
There are Medicare reimbursement requirements, which dictate that LTACH patients must need more than 25 days of hospitalization. The average length of stay for an LTACH patient is approximately 30 days.
