Meet Hominy. 🐶❤️

This sweet pup was brought to us after a kind family found her wandering onto their property with a can stuck on her head.

The family tried to remove it, but when they couldn't free her safely, the husband carefully cut the can off and rushed Hominy to us so we could make sure she was okay and help her find a loving home.

The good news? Hominy is safe! She's currently being evaluated, and so far everything is looking great, but she will require further evaluation, vaccinations, and spay. We're incredibly thankful for this compassionate family and their quick actions, they likely prevented a much worse outcome.

Hominy's story is also an important reminder: Please dispose of your trash properly. Items like cans, containers, and other litter can become dangerous traps for curious animals, putting their lives at risk. A few extra seconds to throw trash away in the proper place can make all the difference.

We're so grateful Hominy's story has a happy beginning, and we can't wait to help her find the forever home she deserves. 💙

Beginning Tuesday, July 7th, we'll be starting renovations to improve our shelter for both our animals and our staff. The project is expected to last about two weeks.

During the renovation, we'll be operating out of our Receiving Building.

✅ We're still open for adoptions.
✅ You're still welcome to come meet and view all of our adoptable animals.
🚗 Just drive through the gate and park in our parking lot—we'll be there to greet you!

Our business hours and all other services will remain the same. The only thing changing is our temporary location while we complete these exciting improvements.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to create a better shelter for the animals in our care and for everyone who visits.

🐾🇺🇸 As we get ready to take care of all of our boarding animals tonight and tomorrow with our Comfort Crew, we wanted to remind everyone that we will be CLOSED tomorrow, Saturday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day.

While our team will be busy making sure every pet in our care feels safe, loved, and comfortable during the holiday festivities, our office will be closed to the public for the day.
