Dr. Thomas Buzbee: Medicine with Heart, Mind, and Mission

In our July 2025 issue, we proudly featured Dr. Thomas Buzbee, MD, of Tyler Internal Medicine Associates—a physician whose journey into medicine was deeply personal and spiritually driven. Inspired by time spent with his grandmother during her cancer treatment, Dr. Buzbee pursued internal medicine for its wide scope and the opportunity to care for the whole patient—mind, body, and spirit.

With over two decades in practice, Dr. Buzbee is known for blending clinical excellence with deep compassion, always taking time to connect with patients and their families. Whether it’s through his thoughtful listening or his emphasis on hope and prevention, he brings purpose and empathy to every interaction.

Outside the clinic, he’s a devoted husband, father of five, avid fisherman, gardener, and marathon finisher. He's also passionate about medical missions, faith, and finding joy in the simple moments—especially around a dinner table with family. With a new TIMA facility on the horizon, Dr. Buzbee continues to lead with integrity, curiosity, and a grounded sense of gratitude.
