Daniece Meuller has the most inspiring story to share!

“Right out of high school, I was accepted into the Choctaw Nation Career Development Program and the Higher Education Program. As a first-generation college student navigating scholarships, enrollment, and degree planning, I had very little understanding of how the process worked. From the very beginning, the Choctaw Nation staff provided unwavering support and guidance. They helped me plan my classes, stay on track for graduation, navigate taking time away from school and re-enrolling, and ensured I always knew what steps needed to be taken. Their assistance alleviated so much stress throughout my educational journey and gave me the confidence to continue pursuing my goals.
What stood out most was the genuine care they showed for each student. Whether it was a quick email offering encouragement, wishing us success on upcoming exams, or letting us know they were praying for us, they consistently reminded us that we were not alone. Even after graduation, they have continued to stay in touch, encouraging me as I prepared for and passed my NCLEX and showing interest in both my professional and personal life. They have always been available to answer questions, provide advice, or simply offer support when needed.
I can confidently say that I would not be where I am today without the opportunities and guidance provided by the Choctaw Nation. Their investment in my education helped me achieve a career that will not only provide a brighter future for my family but also allow me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children every day. I am incredibly grateful for the impact they have had on my journey and the lasting support they continue to provide.”
Her career counselor BJ Albright shared this, “It was an absolute honor working with you Daniece! I am so proud of you! Yakoke for letting us be a part of your career journey. Congrats on graduating, your new job as an RN, and on the new little one coming in August! I can’t wait to see the baby pics 😊. We will continue to pray for good health for you and the baby. I wish you much success in your future career as an RN. I know you will be a blessing to so many patients.”

Congratulations to Peri Thomas! Peri graduated from the cosmetology program at Pontotoc Technology Center. She has passed her licensure exams and is employed at Parlor 118 in Ada, OK.

We took about 15 minutes this afternoon to share some ice cream for floats or sundaes and some laughter. Sometimes you have to share a bit of fun with your co-workers and a hot July 1st is a good time to do that.

A fun update from Tiffany Goad!
It is so awesome to hear from our Choctaw Tribal members who have been able to work with our Career Development program and continue to grow their businesses. We first began working with Tiffany in 2024, when she completed the Whitetail Taxidermy course. She would later add the Upland Game and Waterfowl certification and, as you can see, is very talented and creative. Tiffany emailed to share with us this achievement.
“Hey Mr. Billy, it's Tiffany Goad. I have been in contact with you a couple of times over my taxidermy business! You helped me with funding for taxidermy school, and I wanted to say thank you again! I entered my very first taxidermy competition convention in Tulsa a couple weeks ago and I won the Ducks Unlimited Best Duck Mount in the entire competition for 2026! I wouldn’t be where I am in needing to expand if Choctaw Nation Career Development hadn’t helped pay for my taxidermy schooling so I’m forever grateful!”
