I’ve had my fair share of physical therapist experiences over the years, but have yet to run into someone like Jon. He’s years of experience and knowledge shines through with his neuroscience approach to the body, striving to determine the root cause of pain and inflammation. After gathering my history, he suspected the root cause, of which I thought he was crazy, but I thought to myself, roll with this and see where this goes for a couple sessions. Well, to my surprise, Jon was spot on with his suspicion and immediately started working towards pain reduction and strengthening. Not only am I experiencing results in just a few visits, but Jon is also empowering me with knowledge, to me, that’s huge. I too much mention, Jon is armed with unique tools, which provides a variety of options working with multiple client needs. I highly recommend Jon, he’s one of the best I’ve experienced in the industry.

Check out our 5 star review - We had tried chiropractic care as well as another physical therapist and my daughter's injury was making no progress in healing. She then started seeing Jon for her sports injury. He listens carefully and understands both the needed movement for the sport as well as viewing the injury in a holistic way (not just the exact site of the injury). My daughter is significantly better. My husband and son also needed help and Jon was able to get them back to pain-free playing shape! Jon also really cares about his patients - he cares about how they are doing beyond the physical aspect. We are so glad we found the physical therapist we needed and will definitely go to him any time we need help!

For the next four years she suffered with hip and lower back pain that failed to resolve with either chiropractic or conventional physical therapy treatment. I was concerned that she would suffer with these pains and be unable to return to her active lifestyle. Fortunately, I know Jon Schultz who owns Optimum Performance Physical Therapy in Urbandale. He is very skilled and talented in dealing with chronic pain. She worked with him for a short time and he was able to significantly reduce my daughter’s pain while also improving her overall function. She can now hike and jog without complaining of hip or lower back pain. Also, her outlook on exercising and being active has been restored. I am pleased that I decided to recommend that she go see Jon at Optimum Performance Physical Therapy. He excels at successfully treating individuals who have given hope of achieving pain relief.

Jon is super passionate about getting you better and has a very different approach to 90% of therapists out there. He doesn't pass you off to some tech who might end up leaving you worse off than before, and as soon as you walk into the clinic, you'll see that Jon is doing things that no one else in the area has tried yet, or maybe they just don't have the budget or time to learn. Hard to say why there aren't more clinics like this.

Well-meaning friends had shared their experiences and used words like: "forced my knee to bend", "drove me to tears", etc. Jon was nothing like that. He immediately put me at ease, never challenging me beyond what I could handle that day. His holistic approach to healing was refreshing. Even though it was my left knee that underwent surgery it impacted my entire body and he addressed specific issues as my body changed and adjusted in the healing process.
