What a whirlwind. Did you know that Texas leads the nation in the number of tornadoes per year? These can form and occur in the blink of an eye, so make sure you’re prepared.

• Find a safe zone like an interior room on the lowest floor without windows. The more walls you can put between you and the outside walls of the home the better.

• Wind-proof outside property. Secure large items like trampolines, grills, and furniture.

• Weatherproof important documents. Take photos of each or store digital copies on a flash drive while keeping in mind digital media has a limited lifespan.

*Ensure that all insurance is current and up to date, so that personal property and assets are covered if/when a bad weather event occurs.
