My wonderful milk goats are blessing me with so much milk! I've been making goat cheese and experimenting with recipes. Here are two of them. I just need to slow down and make homemade crackers. The first one is whipped goat cheese and a slice of cowboy candy. The second one is whipped with organic Canadian maple syrup topped with a walnut. My friend Catherine introduced me to the wonders of their maple syrup. Now on to more savory recipes.

I have not tried this feed but I do know who Joe Reese Row is and his show goats. Interesting.

Joe Row Pellet is the best goat feed if you’re from or around the Abilene area. I drive almost an hour to get some and have no regrets. This feed has changed my herd for the better! I’ve seen each goat get better gain, hide, performance, and overall just a healthier herd. Last year I lost over half my kids and I had no mamma goats develop milk bags, so I had tons of bottle babies. This year I changed feeds and haven’t lost but one, which was not due to anyone’s fault. With a 6% fat content and 17% protein for a great price per bag why wouldn’t you choose what’s best for your herd? Bought my first pallet yesterday, but have been getting it since September 2024 and haven’t switched since!
