There is something so special about Bernard. ❤️

The more time I spend with him, the more he reminds me of our sweet Romeo. He has that same calm, gentle personality and loves to stop for cuddles and affection. It brings back so many wonderful memories while also helping heal our hearts after losing Romeo.

Bernard will never replace Romeo—no one ever could—but seeing those familiar, gentle mannerisms in him feels like a little gift. We are so grateful this handsome boy found his way to Funky Chicken Rescue. ❤️ 🦖

🌽 🥜 Corn Nut Update 🐐❤️
I hadn’t heard anything for about 24 hours, so I finally called UC Davis and spoke with Corn Nut’s veterinarian.
The good news is that he’s eating, drinking, and otherwise looks good. However, she’s still concerned about the sounds his rumen is making. She’d like to keep him one more day so they can continue monitoring him and, hopefully, see his rumen return to normal.
We’re all praying that tomorrow is the day our sweet boy gets to come home. The sanctuary is just way too quiet without our crazy Corn Nut keeping us on our toes.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has donated toward his medical care—some of you have even donated twice. Your kindness means more than you know.
Today I had to pay $2,200 toward his veterinary bill. This was a completely unexpected expense, and if you’re able to help, even $5 or $10 truly makes a difference. Every donation adds up and helps us continue providing the care our animals need.

So… I’m pretty sure Lil’ T is actually a boy! 🫪@❤️

I needed this laugh today after spending so much time worrying about Corn Nut. I don’t usually share these kinds of moments, but I figured everyone else might need a chuckle too.

This little guy is only one month old! He literally went from Lil’ T to Mr. T overnight! 😂

On another note, thank you all so much for your kind words, prayers, and donations for Corn Nut. Your support means more to us than you know, and we are so grateful to have such an amazing community standing behind him. ❤️
