One of my favorite things about living in Commack is how the whole community comes alive for the holidays, especially Halloween. 🎃

If you’re looking for some fun (and spooky!) things to do with the family without driving all over Long Island, I’ve got you covered. You’re going to want to save this!

Here are my favorite houses to visit:

👻 Peppermint Chop Shop (4 Peppermint Rd) - Perfect for those who love a good scare! Live entertainment on 10/25 & 10/31 at 6:30pm-10pm. An absolute must-visit!

🎃 Stonywood Scare (35 Stonywood Dr) - Walk around the spooky haunted house displays and make a donation to their Cystic Fibrosis Foundation while you’re there! Open weekends: Fri/Sat 6pm-11pm & Sun 6pm-9pm

💀 31 Balsam Lane: Amazing local Commack dad transforms their home into a Halloween spectacular for his two sons with special needs. While you’re there, donate to the Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism (NSSA) - a local nonprofit organization dedicated to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Other Halloween events around town you don’t want to miss:

Halloween Happening at Commack High School on 10/29 at 4pm - Bring the family for fun and games, led by our wonderful high school students.

Commack VAC Trunk or Treat (200 Burr Road) on 10/25 at 3pm - Don’t forget to bring $1 cash for admission per person. This event is always a fun time with raffles, face painting, food trucks and more!

It’s moments and events like these that made me fall in love with this town. It’s not just a place to live, it’s a community to be a part of.
