Please join us in celebrating Peyton Lovejoy, a CVA 7th grader who is new to Columbia Virtual Academy this year - and already making headlines!
Peyton was recently crowned Rodeo Queen of the Northwest Junior Rodeo Association (NJRA) at the year‑end banquet on February 28, 2026, held at the Great Wolf Lodge in Chehalis, Washington. In the photo, Peyton is pictured on the left, alongside last year’s Rodeo Queen.
As the newly crowned Rodeo Queen, Peyton will serve as an ambassador for the NJRA. Her role includes gathering sponsors, inspiring young people, and representing the association at events across the region. She will proudly showcase the Western lifestyle while emphasizing positive values, commitment to Western culture, strong moral character, and compassion for animals.
Peyton has also been busy competing! She recently returned from the Inter‑Mountain Icebreaker Rodeo in Utah, where she placed an impressive 8th in breakaway roping out of nearly 1,000 competitors - and connected with fellow rodeo queens from across the country.
This is Peyton’s first year at CVA, and she has truly enjoyed the flexibility our program offers. Her customized schedule has allowed her to balance academics with her demanding rodeo commitments - and that flexibility will pay off even more next year as she travels around the state representing the NJRA.
Congratulations, Peyton! We are so proud to have you as part of the CVA community and can’t wait to see all you accomplish!

Mrs. Cooper’s LEGO Club Fun!
Mrs. Cooper’s LEGO Club meets a few times each month for creative building challenges. For this challenge, students started by designing their dream car or house, then raced the clock to build as many letters of the alphabet as possible!
Along the way, they practiced presentation skills and shared their awesome creations with the group.
We love seeing their imagination and confidence grow!
