What a weekend.

It started off great—met up with some brothers at our regular meetup. On the way out, the leather side lacing on my vest broke, so I had it flapping.

Then things really took a turn… Gunny broke down on southbound I-205 at Exit 24. I sent the crew on ahead to finish the ride, called for a tow, and had my mom come meet me so we could get her towed over to Steelhead HD.

Three hours later, we were finally on the move. All Mom wanted in return for saving me? A Frosty from Dairy Queen. Who am I to deny that? So of course, Frosties it was.

Yesterday ended up being a long one—5 hours for a 15-mile ride.

Today was a lot better.

Took Candy out for a 123.4-mile lunch ride and knocked it out in about 4 hours.

Thank God Teresa and I have a spare trike—mine won’t even be looked at for at least a week, maybe a week and a half.

Today a buddy and I took a short ride to steelhead Harley Davidson so he can join up for the 2026 let’s ride program. While I was there, I ended up talking to service about my handlebars and lubed up the spring on the emergency break. Now that my handlebars have been adjusted to give me the appropriate 15° bend in my elbows and drop my arms down below my shoulder maybe my shoulder pains will decrease.

Yesterday a different buddy did all the work on both of my bikes to get all the parts I’ve purchased put on. Today was the first day that I rode with the new levers and they felt really good.

It was like Christmas for me today. I ordered a couple of things from amazon on Thursday for the bikes. Since I have been riding more in the rain I ordered Rain X for plastic, for my visor and windshield, hope it works like advertised. The EZ shift for Candy came in as well. Picked up Gunny’s shift rod today and a new pair of gloves for spiring/summer. Buying the gloves got me a free HD hat. While at Steal Head HD I did milage check in for this year and to my surprise I’ve put over 1K milage on the trikes, which got me the following 2026 let ride challenge swag: 500mi key change snd 1K challenge coin. Next item is a flashlight (2500) and then the hat at 5k (that’s where I ended last year), I digress. Gunny’s lever also showed up today, so now I have a little work to do on both bikes.

Oh yeah, I was able to get out and do a short 70mile ride. Not as much as I would like to have but enough to clear the mind. Road was wet when I took off this morning, so on were the rain pants but on the ride bock from the dealership I was able to ride in 2 shirts and jeans only.

Gunny will be getting some new parts over the weekend or early next week. The first modification is going to be adjustable levers. This is being done for safety/functional reasons. The second change is going to be primarily cosmetic. This change is going to be the willie g shift rod. I’m not a big fan of spending that amount if money on a cosmetic only, but I already have willie g accents so I might as well keep the thing going. Plus, I already have Harley points that converts into cash so it’s already money that has been spent, which makes it easier to swallow pictures to come when changes are made.
