🚨 “Vagina-Maxxing” Is Just the Latest Way to Sell Insecurities 🚨
A new social media trend called “va**na-maxxing” promotes products and procedures that claim to improve the appearance, smell, tightness, or attractiveness of the v***a and va**na. The products range from deodorants and whitening creams to tightening gels, steaming treatments, supplements, and other “intimate wellness” products. Experts are warning that many of these products are unnecessary, unproven, and in many cases potentially harmful. (VICE)
Let’s clear up a few common myths:
❌ Vaginas do not need to be detoxed, steamed, tightened, deodorized, or “freshened.”
❌ A healthy va**na should not smell like flowers, perfume, or scented products.
❌ Normal va**nal odor, discharge, and changes throughout the menstrual cycle are part of healthy biology. (VICE)
✅ The va**na is self-cleaning.
✅ The v***a (the external ge***al tissue) does benefit from routine hygiene defined as washing with gentle soap that is free of fragrances and dyes daily.
My recommendation as a primary care provider:
• Wash the v***a once daily with a gentle, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic soap and water.
• Avoid putting soaps, cleansers, deodorants, oils, melts, steaming products, or other “wellness” products inside the va**na.
• Skip products that promise to change odor, color, tightness, or appearance.
• Wear breathable underwear and avoid fragranced products on the ge***al area.
Most importantly:
If you develop symptoms such as:
🔹 Pain
🔹 Itching
🔹 Burning
🔹 Unusual discharge
🔹 A new or strong odor
🔹 Bleeding outside your normal cycle
Make an appointment with a healthcare professional rather than trying to self-treat with products marketed on social media.
Your va**na does not need “optimization”.
Your v***a does not need “perfection”.
Your body is not a problem waiting to be solved by a marketing department.

🦠 Still not feeling like yourself after COVID?
You’re not alone.
Long COVID affects millions of people and can occur even after a mild COVID infection. Symptoms may last for months or years and can affect multiple body systems.
Common symptoms include:
🔹 Fatigue that doesn’t improve with rest
🔹 Brain fog, memory, or concentration difficulties
🔹 Dizziness or feeling faint when standing
🔹 Rapid heart rate or palpitations
🔹 Shortness of breath
🔹 Headaches
🔹 Sleep disturbances
🔹 Exercise intolerance
🔹 Digestive symptoms
Researchers are also seeing increasing rates of conditions such as:
💓 POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)
Symptoms may include dizziness, rapid heart rate, fatigue, brain fog, nausea, and feeling worse when standing upright.
🌿 MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome)
Symptoms may include flushing, itching, hives, congestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headaches, dizziness, and reactions to foods, medications, fragrances, or environmental triggers.
🥗 Gastroparesis
Symptoms may include early fullness, bloating, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fatigue, and more.
While there is not yet a single cure for Long COVID, many people experience meaningful improvement through a combination of rehabilitation, medications, symptom management, and lifestyle modifications.
At Lavender Spectrum Health, we work with patients experiencing Long COVID, POTS, MCAS, and related conditions to develop individualized treatment plans. Depending on your symptoms and medical history, treatment options may include:
✅ Neurorehabilitation strategies
✅ Activity pacing and energy management
✅ Hydration and salt optimization
✅ Compression garments
✅ Low-dose naltrexone (LDN)
✅ Low-dose aripiprazole (Abilify)
✅ Antihistamines
✅ Cromolyn
✅ Guanfacine
✅ Beta blockers
✅ Other evidence-informed treatments as clinically appropriate
If you’ve had COVID and haven’t felt the same since, talk with your primary care provider. Persistent symptoms deserve evaluation, support, and a thoughtful treatment plan.
