Nice to go into the holiday weekend on a high note- Vancouver City Attorney dismissed a case against my client today (trial had been set for next Monday!) after I pointed out their alleged victim was not only a felon with multiple recent convictions for lying, but also had FOUR active warrants out for his arrest.

I love giving good news to my clients. Assault 2 (DV) with a deadly weapon enhancement was dismissed yesterday after pushing the prosecutor to interview the civilian witnesses who corroborated my client's claim of self defense. Officers ignored their input at the scene, and one even refused to talk to us in a recorded interview to explain his actions. Often the most important trial work occurs before you ever set foot in front of a jury.
