Duda Cable Construction is seeking an experienced Aerial Construction Foreman/ Lineman for utility work.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel.
• Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members.
• Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear and safety needs.
• Regularly reporting project status to supervisors.
• Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid drivers' license with acceptable MVR.
• Able to pass a background check, DOT physical, drug and alcohol testing.
• Previous construction background required.
• This is an hourly, Monday through Friday position with overtime and medical/dental benefits after 90 days.
• Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck.
• Ability to lift/ carry 50 lbs regularly.
• Must be able to build strand, place and lash any fiber or coax.
• Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas.
• Must have own, reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• General social skills to communicate with crew members if problems arise.
• Willingness to learn.
• Class A CDL not required, but preferred

Experience:

• Construction: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certifications:

• Driver's License (Required)
• Class A CDL (preferred)

I met Ed in 1983, from what has been a lifetime friendship. For about 2yrs we worked on our first crew together doing a total rebuild for Westmoreland Cable.
In 1986 I started my own business, I called Ed to paint the trucks I had purchased for the company. I am not sure when Ed started working for us at Duda Cable, but it feels like forever. Ed started out as a fulltime Mechanic and eventually to a Fleet Manager. His knowledge has been valued throughout the years, this included working as a mechanic on lashers, tooling, Telsta Bucket trucks, T-40B, C and the SU models. He would also do all the body work and paint all the trucks.
Ed would always be there anytime you needed anything even as a friend. I could go on and on about this guy, but he will be greatly missed at the company by many of us, especially me. Thank you Ed for your service here at Duda Cable. After all these years here you deserve this retirement.
