🌈 Reflecting on a Memorable Homecoming Weekend with PennGALA 🌟

This Homecoming Weekend was a remarkable one, thanks to YOU! Our mixer event was not just successful but memorable, and it's all due to the incredible support from our alumni, students, and community members.

Over 50 of us gathered at the LGBT Center, sharing stories and a delicious meal catered by El Merkury.

A special shoutout to:

- Maya Thompson, co-chair of PennGALA, for her opening remarks.
- Dr. Joan Lau for sharing her insights as a Penn Trustee.
- Grey Pierce and Archita Banerjee for their continued work on behalf of our community.

Each of you added a unique sparkle to the event, and it wouldn't have been the same without you. 🥂 🎉

Kudos to the PennGALA co-chairs (Maya Thompson and Brett Thalmann) and the committee for orchestrating such a splendid event and to Jake Muscato and the LGBT Center staff for exceptional support and hospitality.

Get to know PennGALA, the University of Pennsylvania’s LGBTQ+ alumni group! ❤️🌈 💙

PennGALA is the community for LGBTQ alumni of the University of Pennsylvania. Our goals are to foster a sense of connection, promote a close relationship between the alumni and the University, and advocate for current LGBTQ students! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

PennGALA began in 1984 as an informal organization for LGBTQ alumni of the University of Pennsylvania. We became an official part of PennAlumni, the University's general alumni society, in 1999.

PennGALA’s members played a proud role in establishing The Carriage House, a historic building on campus, as the permanent home for Penn LGBT Center, which opened in September 2002.

The LGBT Center building continues to serve as a locus for all LGBTQ organizations and activities at Penn, and it provides an invaluable and unprecedented resource for all members of our community, including alumni!
