I wonder what potential exists for us if we stop believing that being understood is a requirement to being loved.

I often feel misunderstood and gosh, a part of me really can’t stand it.

For a long time I made that feeling mean I’m not loved and so I’ve pushed away what could have been, thinking maybe it’ll hurt less if I go first.

I no longer believe it’s worth measuring hurt as more or less, first or second. Truth is, it spreads all ways.

And so does love, in spite of everything.

So maybe we can make some room for love.

to love ourselves for who we are in spite of being misunderstood and to love each other in spite of misunderstanding.

Maybe we can give a little bit more grace, in spite of our doubts.

Maybe we can try love, in spite of it all (just like the sunflowers do).

PS did you know that each sunflower you see is actually hundreds (sometimes thousands!) of flowers growing together? Every petal is a flower in itself. They grow together, turn together, rejoice together, love together.

We spend 1/3 of our lives with Mercury Retrograde.

Every single year it happens *at least* three times. Most planets spend half of the year retrograde. That’s six months and half of our lives (!!) that the earth comes between the orbit of venus, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, chiron, neptune, pluto and god knows what else.

When it happens we’re influenced more directly. It hits our orbit different. We call it retrograde. It’s actually astronomy. It’s not remarkable. It’s perspective. It’s gravity.

Mercury helps us review the impact, make sense of it all and try again... and again.

Rather than seeing it as an abnormal glitch in the system, it’s better to understand it as an alignment cycle. It moves us backwards to propel us forward with greater integrity. It shows us time and time again that we get the space to reframe and review and rethink just about anything. Sometimes we find we’re more free then we realize… even if it takes a cycle or two to see it.

The next three weeks give us room to breathe and show us who we are when we get that chance. Sometimes you might not like who you see or how you breathe when you have that chance. I hope you let yourself be ok with that.

You’ll get the chance to explore what’s aligned to who you are in this season, this cycle. Yes, your relationships and choices and ways will be tested because of it. Let them be - you’re used to that. Nothing right now is concrete. You are not stuck. You get a re-do.

Be easy, be open, be curious. Give yourself the permission to be real with it all.
